2011 B.L.A.S.T. Schedule

The quarterly B.L.A.S.T. meetings will be more important than ever in 2011!  Our recent training sessions have focused on Robert Lupton's teachings on moving ministries from acts of individual charity to community empowerment.  Empowerment comes when people's gifts, talents, self-worth and dignity are recognized, encouraged and supported.  So how well are we doing in this area?  What should we be doing better?  What should we not be doing?  Our B.L.A.S.T. meetings will be focused on rethinking all that we do and creating ways to develop local leadership and empower the individuals we serve.  The meeting dates are as follows:

·         Tuesday, January 18th, 6:30p The Attic (In the Upper Room area)
·         Monday, April 18th, 6:30p Community Hall
·         Wednesday, July 20th 6:30p Community Hall
·         Thursday, October 20th 6:30p Upper Room

Please note that we scheduled the meetings on different days of the week to try to accommodate different schedules.  And remember that as a volunteer in this ministry, you are required to attend at least two of these meetings.

  1. The January meeting got us started off on the right foot. Thanks to everyone that attended and participated in setting team goals for 2011. We have so much to be thankful for and so much to do! Every time I hear the words of Jesus "the harvest is ready and the workers are few" I feel we're right in the middle of it all. Let's all be praying for a fruitful 2011.
